Mulder, it’s me….

Buffy. Firefly. Supernatural. The X-Files……

In alphabetical order, these are MY shows, the ones that are in the very DNA of my geekdom. I know other people love them, I’m not claiming to be the BIGGEST fan of these shows. They just happen to be the ones that feel like they belong to me, that feel like they speak directly to me.

Other shows come and go, I watch them, I enjoy them and I even invest my time in them.  But MY shows, these shows are the ones that make me travel long distances to conventions, inspire me to put pen to paper and get me fangirling all over the place.

So you can only imagine my excitement when I found out that David Duchovny AKA Special Agent Fox Mulder is coming to Glasgow in May to promote his debut album, Hell or Highwater (which is pretty cool, has a Dylan/Petty vibe to it).  This is the man whose face adorned my bedroom walls and made me feel like I wasn’t the only weirdo in the world who was obsessed with the existence of extraterrestrials.  I even named my first car Fox after him!

But the excitement of finding out that he is going to be playing a gig in Glasgow has now been replaced with the nerves and the question of ‘will I be able to get a ticket?’  The venue is a small one and I know I can’t be the only X-Phile in the Glasgow area who realise what a unique opportunity this will be to see Spooky Mulder.

So, it’s the day before the tickets go on sale and I’m a nervous wreck.  Should I try and buy them using the ticket app?  Or use the website?  Or go to the actual ticket seller shop?  I’ll report back tomorrow and let you know if I got tickets or not.  Wish me luck!

UPDATE – I got two tickets for the gig!  WOOHOOOOOOO!!!
