Is Daredevil the superhero equivalent of a one night stand?

Marvel make fun, bombastic, family-friendly movies.  They have barely put a foot wrong since the first Iron Man movie and with the up-coming Avengers: Age of Ultron they look to continue that streak.  They have fallen slightly short though with their foray into TV with Agents of SHIELD.
Meanwhile, DC have been kicking ass and taking names in the TV show stakes with first with Arrow and then with the Flash and Gotham.
So in my head Marvel were the movie moguls while DC ruled the TV.
And then I spent all of last weekend watching Daredevil…..

The combination of fantastic writing, astounding performances and a feel to the show that you are watching an 13-hour long movie has blasted everything I thought I knew about how Marvel approached TV out of the water.
One of my work colleagues asked me if I should be watching Daredevil and did I think it was it as good as Arrow?  I automatically said yes, that they should absolutely watch it but hesitated when I wondered if it was on the same footing as Arrow…
I’ve built a long term relationship with Oliver Queen and the inhabitants of Starling City in the DC world.  A relationship built over 3 seasons full of blood, sweat and tears.  This binge on Daredevils New York felt like a one night stand with a supremely hot guy.  Full of passion and intensity but is that enough?
I hope so, I want to take this one night stand and turn it into something more meaningful. But now that I’ve watched all 13 episodes, I have to wait for who knows how long for season 2.
While I loved the fact (at the time) that all 13 episodes were at my fingertips to watch one after the other, I now wonder if it would have been better to watch over 13 weeks instead of 48 hours.  Does anyone else feel the same?
