It’s finally here! My Big Geek Adventure is available on Kindle
You may remember that I posted last week about how nervous I was to publish my book. Those nerves only got stronger as the big day approached.
The writing of the book was fun, as was the editing. I like just emptying my brain on to paper and then piecing it together later. But the proofing and formatting gave me a headache. That was probably the most stressful part of the whole process and the cause of much sighing, crying and the urge to throw my laptop in the bin!
Last Wednesday, I uploaded the book before I went to bed as Amazon say to give it 12 hours to process. So when I woke up the next morning there it was! Logging on to Amazon and seeing my very own book on there was one of the most surreal experiences I’ve ever had. No matter if I never write another book or if I write a whole library worth, seeing it up there was a defining moment in my life.
Of course, the next step was to start telling people about it. I did so by sharing it on my personal Facebook page first. Most of my friends and family knew it was in the pipeline but I hadn’t told anyone the exact date that it would be available.
The amount of support and good wishes I received was OVERWHELMING! I’ve never experienced anything like it in my life. People were sharing my status, downloading the book on to their Kindles then posting pictures of themselves with it, it was crazy! By the end of the first day, thanks to the amazing support from family and friends, it was number 6 in the Adventure Travel category on Amazon. I was in the Top 10 with Bear Grylls!

If this blog hasn’t already given you a taste of what it is about, here’s some more info…
Do you love The Force, The Fellowship and The Federation?
Have you ever wished for your very own adventure?
L-J Clements was just a normal geek until the day she wrote THE LIST. A list filled with every geeky thing she had ever wanted to do, places she wanted to visit and people she wanted to meet.
The following year was spent tracking down a Geek God in cold and windy Glasgow, nearly dying in Canada and creating her very own superhero (among other things). All the while documenting it along the way and dealing with her ‘normal’ life alongside her geek one.
For everyone who loves The Doctor more than life itself, is secretly upset that their letter from Hogwarts never arrived and thinks that they would look amazing in a cloak – join My Big Geek Adventure!
I’m not looking to become a millionaire author overnight, that only happens in fairytales. I just wanted to share my story and hopefully earn a wee bit of cash to help me cross a few more items off the list!
Thanks and I hope you enjoy the book!
